BCCI has shared the video of Shami flying kite on its X account. In this, Shami is seen talking a lot about kite flying, injury and comeback.
Shami did kite flying after 15 years
Mohammed Shami is known for his sharp bowling. However, this time he was seen leaving bowling and flying a kite. While sharing Shami’s video on Instagram, BCCI wrote, ‘After a difficult time and a long wait, he is back in the blues’. Kites are visible in the beginning of the video. After this, Mohammed Shami was seen flying a kite and also biting the manja with his teeth. In the video, Shami is saying, ‘It has been a long time since I flew a kite. It’s been almost 15 years since I started flying kites. Because after leaving the house I did not get to fly the kite. After this, only the ball has come in hand. Shami further said that, but he knows how to fly kite well. According to Shami, one has to maintain balance in kite flying also like in cricket.
Said this on the balance of bowling and kite flying
Shami further said that it is important to maintain balance between bowling and kite flying. The Indian bowler further said, ‘If you set on the crease, you will score runs. If you are set in bowling, you will get wickets. Rhythm is important. Everything has a flow. Whatever it is, but according to bowling, your body, fitness, skills and mindset, all these things are very important. Similarly, the kite also has balance.

Be it manja, ball or driving a car…’
Shami further said, ‘Look, be it manja, ball or driving, if you are strong, if you have confidence in yourself, then I don’t think you will notice any difference. I am flying the kite after 15 years, the kite is flying well. You must have confidence to do any work. When you are scoring runs and taking wickets, everyone is with you. But the real test is in your bad times who is with you, who stands with you.
Shami was afraid to run after the injury
Shami further told that after the injury he was afraid to run. The fast bowler said, ‘Waited for a year. Worked hard for a year. There was fear even in running because of what was going to happen or not. It is very difficult for any player to go back to NCA (National Cricket Academy) after getting injured due to that flow, to rehab and come back. I feel that when you come back from injury, you come back stronger. Because you have to be mentally strong. If you work hard you will definitely get results. If you get injured, you should make a comeback for your team, for your country. Keep fighting, keep moving forward. After this, Shami was seen in the video practicing bowling on the field with Team India.
