Lucknow News: Cyber thug defrauded Lucknow Police constable of Rs 13.33 lakh, committed fraud in the name of investment in Bitcoin.
Lucknow. Internet usage has increased rapidly in the country. Along with this, due to a little carelessness, incidents of cyber fraud are continuously coming to the fore. Amidst such cases, on Wednesday, a cyber fraud took place with a UP Police constable living in Lucknow. It is said that the victim constable was posted in the electricity department. The fraudsters cheated the constable to the tune of Rs 13 lakh 33 thousand. The police have registered a case in the matter and started investigation.

The fraudsters contacted on WhatsApp and asked for investment. Abhishek Singh, resident of Indiranagar, Lucknow, is a constable in UP Police and posted in the Electricity Department. He told that on January 13, a woman named Elena Bakshi had contacted him on WhatsApp. During this time, Elena sent a link on WhatsApp asking Flipkart company to invest in Bitcoin. After clicking on which, the victim constable reached the ID of a woman named Anahita Grace in Telegram.
According to the victim, the trial was being conducted in Telegram by a woman named Anahita Grace. By following the instructions given by him, I invested Rs 1,000 on a trial basis, in return Rs 1,300 was returned. After this, when I invested Rs 6500, I got Rs 7150 back. In this way, initially there was profit in investment, gradually after taking it into confidence, another person named Arjun Singh was contacted on Telegram itself, who connected the victim constable with VIP PREMIUM GROUP on Telegram itself. It is said that by motivating the group, the lure of earning more and more money was given, falling prey to which the victim constable Abhishek invested around Rs 13 lakh 33 thousand.
The victim told that after investing Rs 13.33 lakh, when it was time to withdraw the money, he was told by a young man named Arjun that his account has been frozen. When the call was made on the spot, it was told that to withdraw the money, half the deposited amount i.e. about Rs 6.5 lakh will have to be deposited. After all this, the victim Abhishek realized that he had been cyber-frauded, after which Abhishek lodged an online complaint in cyber crime.
