When TRAI asked for cheap calling plans, Airtel snatched this special benefit from the old plan…
New Delhi:- Following the instructions issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Indian telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has started voice and SMS-only prepaid plans.
The thing to note is that Airtel has not introduced any new plan for this. But to meet the instructions given by TRAI, the company modified its existing plans. Let us know in detail about the prepaid plans offered by Airtel…
Prepaid plan of Rs 509
Airtel has revised its Rs 509 prepaid plan, under which you will now get the facility to send unlimited voice calls and 900 SMS messages. Let us tell you that the validity of this plan has been kept by the company for 84 days.
Apart from this, as additional Airtel rewards, it gets free content on Airtel Xstream app, Apollo 24/7 Circle membership and free Hello Tunes. According to Airtel, the effective price of voice and SMS-only plan is around Rs 167 per month. It is worth noting that earlier, this plan also included 6GB data.
Rs 1,999 prepaid plan
Apart from Airtel's Rs 509 plan, for users who prefer long term or annual plans, the company has introduced an annual plan of Rs 1,999. In this plan you get the facility of unlimited voice calls and 3,600 SMS messages and the validity of this plan has been kept up to 365 days.
Airtel's Rs 1,999 annual plan offers free content on Airtel Xstream app, Apollo 24/7 circle membership and free Hello Tunes as additional Airtel rewards. This prepaid plan was already present in the company's plans list and with it, customers also got 24GB data.
What is the goal of the company?
Bharti Airtel has removed the bundled data benefits from these existing prepaid plans. In such a situation, the company believes that their value will remain in the market, because Airtel has set a target of average revenue per user of Rs 300 in the near term and these prepaid plans can help in achieving this target. This can be seen as a tariff adjustment targeting the higher price segment.
