Lohardaga: Even an innocent man gets scared at the mention of police. The fear of uniforms in the minds of people is such that people are afraid of even asking for help from the police, let alone justice. Efforts are being made to change this image of the police in Lohardaga district of Jharkhand, where under the leadership of Haris Bin Zaman, people fearlessly put forward their problems in front of the senior police officers of Jharkhand in resolving public complaints.
Public Grievance Redressal Program
Public grievance redressal program was organized on Wednesday at Nagar Bhawan located in Lohardaga Sadar block. This event was organized on the initiative of Lohardaga Police, on the instructions of Director General of Police Anurag Gupta. Ranchi Zone Inspector General of Police Asim Vikrant Minj and Lohardaga Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman also participated in the program as chief guests.
People sought solutions to problems without fear
In this, people from all over the district came with their complaints and sought solutions from the police officers. Some gave written complaints, while some expressed their problems orally.
IG Asim Vikrant Minj said on the occasion, “This Public Grievance Redressal Program is for the people, where their problems will be resolved quickly. This is a big initiative of Jharkhand government and police, which will benefit the public.” He appealed to the people, “You should present your complaints to the police without any fear. The police is always with you.”
He also informed that the complaints received in the previous programs have been resolved and immediate action will be taken on the complaints received today also. The police also contact the complainants over phone, so that they can be informed about the action.
Facility for online and offline complaints
Lohardaga Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman said, “The objective of this program is to provide quick solution to people's problems. People can lodge their complaints both online and offline.” A total of 42 cases came up in this programme, which included serious complaints like cyber crime and violence against women, and instructions were given to the concerned police station in-charges to take immediate action on them.
This program was organized by the police for the third time in Lohardaga, and half of the complaints received so far have been resolved.
