Punjab vehicle created political ruckus in Delhi: BJP filed Rs 100 crore defamation case, gave ultimatum of 48 hours to Kejriwal-Bhagwant Mann to apologize

Delhi Assembly Election 2025: The round of allegations and counter-allegations continues regarding the Delhi Assembly elections. The war of words between political parties has intensified. Meanwhile, BJP candidate Pravesh Verma has given an ultimatum to former Delhi CM and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He said that he should apologize within 48 hours otherwise be ready for action. He has filed a defamation case of Rs 50 crore each (total Rs 100 crore) against these two leaders.

Amidst the Delhi Assembly election campaign, there is a political turmoil regarding vehicles with Punjab number plates. BJP candidate from New Delhi seat, Pravesh Verma has filed a defamation case against Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann for distorting his statement. Pravesh Verma's lawyer Vivek Garg said that a legal defamation notice of Rs 100 crore has been sent to Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann for distorting Pravesh's statement. We have given them 48 hours to apologize and pay the compensation, otherwise strict legal action will be taken against them. He said that whatever compensation will be incurred will be spent on the welfare of the people of New Delhi Assembly constituency.

Actually, BJP candidate Pravesh Verma had said that Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann are misusing Punjab government vehicles and government machinery, which is illegal and we have filed a complaint in this regard with the Election Commission and Delhi Police. Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann are flouting the law and misleading the public. Both should either apologize and pay defamation charges or be prepared for legal action.

It is noteworthy that BJP candidate Pravesh Verma claimed that government employees from Punjab were installing cameras of a Chinese company near India Gate. Linking it to the country's security, he demanded an investigation. The former MP said, 'All their goons have come from Punjab. Chief Minister, Minister, Councilor leaders have camped at New Delhi seat. All the nearby hotels have been booked. Thousands of vehicles with Punjab number are roaming here, who are the people among them, preparations are going on to celebrate 26th January, are they going to do such a big thing here, which can pose a threat to our security system.

BJP should apologize to Punjabis- Kejriwal

On this, Arvind Kejriwal hit back and wrote on his Lakhs of Punjabi refugees also live in Delhi, who left everything and came to Delhi during the difficult times of partition. His family also endured countless tortures. By what BJP leaders are saying today, they are insulting his martyrdom and sacrifice. I felt very pained to hear this statement.
