Railway Group D Recruitment: Applicants demand to increase vacancies to 1 lakh

New Delhi: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has recently released the recruitment notification to fill out over 32,000 Group D vacancies. However, aspirants have started a protest on X (formerly Twitter) demanding to increase the number of vacancies to 1 lakh.

Candidates took to X to post their demand with the hashtag #RailwayLevel1_1Lakh_VacancyDo and tag Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, PMO India and other authorities. Last year, it was also seen that candidates took to social media and demanded an increase in the vacancies.

Group D recruitment application begins

The recruitment board has started the application process for various posts in Level 1 of the 7th CPC pay matrix for Group D recruitment. Through this recruitment drive a total of 32,438 vacancies will be filled, however, the candidates are raising concerns about the limited vacancies. The application form needs to be filled out by February 24.

To be eligible to apply for RRB Group D Level 1 posts candidates must have passed class 10 or ITI or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. The upper age limit of the candidates must be 36 years.

The final selection of candidates will be done based on a Computer Based Test (CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Document Verification (DV) and a Medical Examination (ME).

The roles for which candidates will get hired include Pointsman, Assistant, Assistant Loco Shed, Assistant Operations, Assistant Operations and others in various departments of Indian Railways.
