spoon ghee, 2 cups water, salt.
Method: Wash and soak rice and lentils. Wash rice and moong dal and soak them in water for 15-20 minutes. Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard greens and fry them. When the mustard starts cooking, add cumin, asafoetida, ginger, green chilli and curry leaves. Now add turmeric, coriander powder and red chilli. Mix well.
Now add soaked rice and pulses, add some salt and 2 cups of water, cover and let it cook. Let the water cook completely in the khichdi, when the khichdi is cooked, add ghee and mix. Finally Sarso Khichdi is ready, serve it hot.
