Why are Ola-Uber fares different on iPhone and Android? Central government sought clarification from the company

New Delhi. The Central Modi government has given notice to cab aggregators. A reply has also been sought. Let us tell you that this notice has been sent to Ola and Uber. Clarification has been sought from Cab Aggregator as to why prices are being shown differently for different phone users? This notice has been issued by the Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA).

This notice has come at a time when recent reports had revealed that Ola and Uber are showing different fares depending on the phone models. Different devices include Apple iPhone and Android Phone. Initial investigation has found that the fare on the app was also different depending on the phone models i.e. Android and iPhone. A notice has been issued by CCPA and a reply has been sought from the cab service. However, Ola and Uber have not given any reply in this matter.

Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Prahlad Joshi has also shared this information by posting on X platform. Android and iPhone are two different platforms in the smartphone world. Google has an Android platform, while Apple's iPhone uses iOS17.
