Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has introduced a new shower gel inspired by Lunar New Year rituals, further expanding her presence in the beauty industry.

According to Dimsum Dailyin the promotional video for her latest product, Fan revealed that she was inspired by the traditional practice of using pomelo leaves for cleansing on the 28th day of the last lunar month. This ritual is believed to ward off bad luck and welcome a fresh start for the new year.
Presented in the form of a conversation between Fan and Hong Kong feng shui expert Mak Ling Ling, the video also captures Fan admitting that she had little knowledge of Lunar New Year customs before connecting with Mak.
Fan, who began her entertainment career at 17 and is now 44, has achieved global recognition as an actress, model, television producer, and singer. In 2017, she was included in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
After being fined US$128 million for tax evasion in 2018, Fan largely retreated from the spotlight. Recently, however, she has made a comeback, appearing at international events and reconnecting with fans on social media platforms like Xiaohongshu and Douyin, where she shares updates about her life in Hong Kong.
Since 2018, Fan has diversified her career by establishing a beauty brand, which has flourished thanks to the popularity of her face mask line.
