AI technologies are ready to revolutionize Indian businesses this year- Report
New Delhi New Delhi: India will see transformative changes in its technological landscape this year due to advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI), a report said on Thursday. Indian organizations are rapidly adopting AI technologies in key domains such as automation, cybersecurity, robotics and supply chain management, the Capgemini Research Institute report said. Nearly 80 percent of Indian organizations surveyed are planning to launch a proof-of-concept (POC) or fully adopt AI agents by 2025.
Additionally, 36 percent of Indian organizations are planning to partially implement AI agents in specific areas. The enthusiasm for AI has also been echoed by Indian venture capitalists (VCs) and executives, with 85 percent of VCs and 70 percent of business leaders believing that AI agents will play a transformational role in the AI and data domain by 2025, according to the report. Nearly 63 percent of Indian organizations surveyed expect Gen AI to be able to detect threats faster. The report said the retail and telecommunications sectors are particularly optimistic, where 92 percent and 91 percent of executives, respectively, ranked Gen AI among the top three cybersecurity trends for 2025. The report said that more than 70 percent of Indian companies are expected to integrate AI and Gen AI into their cybersecurity strategies in the coming year.
Another key trend highlighted in the report is the adoption of AI-powered robots. More than 50 percent of organizations in India are projected to deploy AI-powered robots by 2025, with 45 percent planning to implement these technologies in specific parts of their operations. This surge in robotic automation is expected to revolutionize industries like manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare. India is also making progress in modernizing its supply chains through AI-driven innovations. More than 75 percent of Indian organizations are currently in the PoC stage of adopting next generation supply chains, although many are starting with limited use cases. Globally, the energy and retail sectors lead the way, with 80 percent and 78 percent of executives, respectively, ranking new generation supply chains as the top technology trend.
