According to RBI's latest instructions, now banks are now allowed to use only phone numbers that start from 16,00 and are used only for transactions related calls. In simple language, if you have any call transaction or any other financial matter calling number will start with the number 1600.

Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently introduced two special phone number series for financial institutions. Using which customers will be done for transactions and marketing calls. In fact, this new initiative of the government has been designed to save mobile users from financial fraud presented as bank communication.
Calls can come from this number
Not only this, the RBI has prescribed the numbers starting from 140 specifically for marketing calls and customers for SMS information. At the same time, people who provide services like loan loan, credit card or insurance, people will come from the number 140. This step helps users to avoid scammers.
