FIITJEE Coaching Centre Crisis: Unpaid teachers join Aakash Institute
New Delhi: Several branches of FIITJEE coaching institutes in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh have been closed, leaving hundreds of students stranded. FIITJEE centres in Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar and Noida Sector 62 have been closed, along with branches in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Patna in Bihar have also been closed. The reason for the closure was that many teachers left the institution due to non-payment of salaries.
While FIITJEE’s Noida coaching centre is being closed, no information is being given to the parents. Similarly, the Ghaziabad centre and Greater Noida centres are also being closed. An FIR has also been registered in Ghaziabad. Parents of the Noida FIITJEE coaching centre are now demanding that an FIR be registered and all fees refunded.
Pratibha Singh, mother of Akshit Roy, who is currently studying in class 10, said, “This year we paid Rs 3.5 lakh. The last cheque was cleared in December and now this centre is closed.”
Another parent, Jyoti Shah, said, “They take cheques in advance. We got our child admitted here too and paid around Rs. 2.5 lakh. Now this centre is closed.”
Parent Awadhesh Kumar Jha, a lawyer, said, “I deposited Rs 3.82 lakh as fees, but now no one is telling me anything.”
Parent Sarika Mishra said, “I paid Rs 5.50 lakh as fees in September, but they are not giving proper information about the closure of the center.”
Unpaid teachers join Aakash Insitute
It has been identified that the main reason for the closure of FIITJEE coaching centers is non-payment of salaries and better offers. Parent Jyoti Shah said, “On Tuesday night, a message came from the coaching faculty that we are all resigning and Akash is joining.”
The message reads, “So we collectively have resigned from FIITJEE services and joined AAKASH institute’s newly launched wing ‘INVICTUS – Advanced Engineering Program at Noida where both faculty and student will be benefited.”
It also reads, “The classes will now resume under Aakash Institute’s management without any break. Your teachers will be in your contact.”
