Chandigarh. The official YouTube channel of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee SGPC, Sri Amritsar has been suspended for a week for violating YouTube rules. The action came into effect when the daily live telecast of the Sahib’s recitation from Sri Harmandir Sahib was going on on the evening of 19 November. According to YouTube, a video uploaded on October 31 has been objected to under their policy. In the video, facts related to Sikh history and context related to the events of 1984 were presented by a Sikh preacher.
The video shared historical views about Sikh warriors, which YouTube deemed a violation of its content guidelines. Due to this the activities of the channel have been temporarily stopped. SGPC has sent to YouTube its Sikh viewpoint and the historical perspective of the video in detail. SGPC has assured that the regular telecast of Gurbani will continue without interruption till the main channel is restored, so that the devotees can connect spiritually as before.
