Patna : In Doman Chak village of Gopalpur police station area, two criminals shot 75-year-old Ashrafi Rai with dozens of bullets outside his house. After which the local people chased both the criminals for about a kilometer and caught them and beat them to death. As soon as information about this incident was received, there was panic in the concerned police station. After which the police team reached the spot. Seeing the condition of the police team that reached the spot, they were shocked. But somehow the police controlled the people. Shakuntala Devi, daughter-in-law of Ashrafi Rai, told that my father-in-law used to work in property dealing and there was a dispute going on regarding 2 bigha land for the last 25 years. We even won the case from the High Court, even after that our cousin father-in-law Nagendra Rai’s son-in-law and daughter threatened us.
Also said that they will pick me up from home and on Monday sent two criminals and got my father-in-law shot. Due to which he died. The criminals shot him 11 bullets. Regarding the incident, Patna’s East SP Parichak Kumar said that the deceased Ashrafi Rai was shot several times by two criminals. Several shell casings have also been recovered from near the house. After the incident, angry villagers mob lynched both the criminals and beat them to death. FSL team has been called to the incident site. Investigation is being done. At first glance the matter seems to be related to land. However, questions are also being raised on the police regarding this entire matter. Because the police got information about such an incident after a long time.
