‘Mentally ill…’, Imran Khan makes serious allegations against Asim Munir, knocks on the door of Islamabad court

Imran Khan health: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and founder of Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has approached the Islamabad High Court regarding his health.

He has appealed to the court to allow him to undergo medical tests and detailed health check-up at Shaukat Khanum Hospital in the next three days. According to local media reports, this petition has been filed through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

The petition also requested the court to make it mandatory for Imran Khan to undergo regular medical check-ups and tests at Shaukat Khanum Hospital every month. The report said that considering Khan’s medical history and current condition, specialist medical teams should be ordered for his detailed examination.

According to the petition, Khan has demanded that a copy of his medical report be made available to his family and presented in the court. He has claimed that he has some serious health problems and has accused the current government of “politically targeting” him.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Imran Khan in a controversial statement described Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir as “mentally ill” and accused him of abrogating the Constitution. In a statement shared on X, Khan said that he and his wife were jailed on false charges on the orders of Munir.

He alleged that he has been kept in solitary confinement for four weeks and even basic facilities as per the jail manual have been taken away. Khan claims that he has been barred from meeting lawyers, family and political associates, which is a violation of his basic human rights.

facing mental stress

Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan, speaking to reporters after meeting him in jail on Tuesday, said Khan’s health was “fine”, although he was facing mental stress. According to Uzma, Imran Khan remains locked in his room for most of the day and the time for outside activities or conversation is extremely limited. Their meeting lasted for a total of 20 minutes.

Imran Khan, who is in jail since August 2023, is facing corruption, terrorism and many other cases. He was removed from power through a no-confidence motion in 2022, after which turmoil continues in the politics of Pakistan.
