DM, SP paid tribute to the demise of international runner and retired BSF Deputy Commandant Muralidhar ji.

Pride of Bhadohi district, international runner and retired Deputy Commandant in BSF, Muralidhar ji passed away tragically in the morning of 4th December due to health reasons. Due to his demise, a wave of mourning has spread in the entire district. On receiving information about his death, District Magistrate Shailesh Kumar and Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Manglik themselves reached his native village Madanpur, Gopiganj.

There, both the officers paid tribute to the late Muralidhar ji by offering a floral wreath on his mortal remains and met the bereaved family members and expressed their deep condolences. Present Abholi block chief Priyanka Bind also paid tribute. The District Magistrate said, “Murlidhar ji’s demise is an irreparable loss for the district. He made an important contribution to the border security of the country and brought glory to the district at the international level.”

Even after retirement, Muralidhar ji remained extremely dedicated to sports. Through his mission, he was making continuous active efforts towards bringing a new revolution in sports and getting more and more medals in the Olympic Games. He always inspired the youth for sports, discipline and national service. The youth preparing to join the army and paramilitary forces considered him as their ideal and guide.

The Superintendent of Police said, “Murlidhar ji’s life has been an excellent example of struggle, dedication and patriotism. His contribution will always be remembered.” The district administration, sports world, BSF family and area residents have expressed deep grief over his demise and prayed to God for the peace of the departed soul.
