Thieves’ game in the dark of night, two batteries missing from Shah Times office

Yameen Vikat, Thakurdwara. A shocking incident has come to light in Thakurdwara city. Thieves entered the office of Shah Times and Active Press Club near the block office and stole two batteries. This incident happened in the dark of night, when no one was present there.
Journalist Satish Chaudhary saw this scene after reaching office in the morning. They had gone to light the lights to prepare news for the newspaper, but found the batteries missing. Immediately he called fellow journalists and informed the police.
How did the theft happen and what did the thieves leave behind?
The thieves broke the lock of the office and entered inside. They took away two big batteries kept there for lighting. While running away, they left a shawl at the spot, which can now become an important clue for the police. This incident happened on Wednesday night, when the roads were deserted due to cold.
Local people say that such petty thieves become active at night. They earn money by selling batteries, which are often used for drug addiction.
Promise of police investigation and action
Inspector Manoj Parmar and Sub-Inspector Bijendra Singh of Kotwali police station reached the spot with the team. They inspected the spot, spoke to witnesses and planned to scrutinize CCTV footage. The police assured to soon catch the thieves and take strict action against those selling stolen goods.
Many journalists including Active Press Club President Anil Sharma and former President Naeem Khan Raja gathered at the spot. He said that it is not just theft of batteries but also a question of safety of journalists.
