The demand for electric cars in India has been growing rapidly over the past few years. Therefore, various companies are launching new EV models in the Indian market from time to time. These electric cars come with excellent range along with powerful safety features. There are many electric cars in India that have secured a 5 safety rating in the Bharat NCAP safety test. Maruti Suzuki is now included in this list along with companies like Tata and Mahindra.

Maruti E-Vitara
Maruti Suzuki has officially unveiled its first electric car E-Vitara in the Indian market. It will be launched in January 2026. The car has passed the Bharat NCAP crash test even before its launch and has received a 5-star safety rating. The car scored 31.49 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 43 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP).
Electric cars with 5-star rating from India NCAP
Many of Tata Motors’ electric cars have received a 5-star safety rating from the India NCAP. These cars include Punch EV, Harrier EV, Nexon EV and Curve EV.
- Tata Harrier EV scores 32 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP).
- The Tata Punch EV scores 31.46 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP).
- Tata Nexon EV scores 29.86 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 44.95 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP).
- Tata Curve EV scores 30.81 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 44.83 out of 49 in Child Occupant Protection (COP).

Mahindra has the largest number of electric cars in the Indian market after Tata Motors. Keeping the safety of the passengers a priority, Mahindra has provided excellent safety features in its EV models. Many of Mahindra’s electric cars have passed the Bharat NCAP crash test and earned a 5-star safety rating. The list includes Mahindra XUV400 EV, XEV 9e and BE 6 models.
