ICC ODI Rankings: King Kohli again close to becoming number-1 in ODI, Shubman Gill suffers loss

ICC ODI Rankings: India’s star batsman Virat Kohli is in tremendous form at the moment. After fifty in the last ODI against Australia, he has scored centuries in two consecutive innings against South Africa. After which Kohli is just 32 rating points away from reaching the first position in the ODI ranking of batsmen.

India star Virat Kohli scored his 83rd international century and has moved up in the latest ICC Men’s Player Rankings. Kohli scored a brilliant 135 runs in just 120 balls in the first match of India’s three-match ODI series against South Africa in Ranchi and due to this, 37-year-old Kohli moved up one place to fourth place in the latest rankings of ODI batsmen.

Kohli’s rating has increased to 751 points, and the right-handed batsman is now just 32 rating points short of teammate Rohit Sharma, who tops the ODI batsmen’s rankings. Kohli was the No. 1 ranked batsman for more than three years at the end of the last decade, but has not been at the top since Pakistan’s Babar Azam ousted him from the top in April 2021.

Rohit has increased his lead over second-placed Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand and third-placed Ibrahim Zadran of Afghanistan, while Kohli has overtaken his teammate Shubman Gill to fourth place and has taken the lead over the former India captain at the top.
