First century scored in ODI
Gaikwad, who came on the field after Jaiswal, played a strong innings. He took India’s innings forward by building a big partnership with Kohli. In this innings, he scored 105 runs in 83 balls with 2 sixes and 12 fours. Gaikwad completed his century in 77 balls, which is the second fastest century by an Indian against South Africa. With this century, Gaikwad has become the 7th player to score a century in ODI and T20.
