Kolkata High Court 32000 Teachers Judgment: Big decision of High Court

There is great relief news for about 32,000 primary school teachers in West Bengal. Calcutta The Division Bench of the High Court gave that judgment (Kolkata High Court 32000 Teachers Judgment) on 3 December 2025, in which the order of cancellation of appointments of all teachers canceled by the Single Bench was set aside.

Earlier in 2023, the Single Bench of Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay had ordered cancellation of the appointment citing irregularities in the TET-recruitment process, but now the Division Bench has overturned that decision. This decision has brought direct relief to thousands of teachers who were facing uncertainty in this matter for years.

After the decision, State Education Minister Bratya Basu while reacting on social media (Kolkata High Court 32000 Teachers Judgment) said that the court has canceled the order of the single bench and now the jobs of 32,000 teachers will be considered completely safe.

Calling it a victory of truth, he also congratulated the Primary Education Board. This case was related to the Cash for Jobs Recruitment Scam of 2014, regarding which legal proceedings were continuing.

\WBTET was held in 2014 in which around 1.25 lakh candidates were declared successful. A total of 42,949 recruitments were made after the recruitment process started in 2016, out of which 32,000 selections have now become valid after this decision.

This decision not only secures the jobs of the teachers, but also judicially clarifies the long-running dispute. Now the appointed teachers (Kolkata High Court 32000 Teachers Judgment) will not face any hindrance in continuing their service and stability is expected to return to the primary education system in the state.
