There is no rivalry between India and Pakistan now: Indian captain Suryakumar Gujarati
dubai After India’s victory against Pakistan in the Super-Four round of Asia Cup 2025, Captain Suryakumar Yadve has given a statement which is being discussed everywhere. Yadve said in clear words that now there is no rivalry between India and Pakistan. This victory against Pakistan was India’s seventh consecutive victory in white ball cricket. So far, both the teams have come face to face in 15 T20 International matches, out of which India has won 12, while Pakistan has won only 3 times. Especially after the 2022 World Cup, this one-sided dominance has become more evident.
In the press conference held after the match, a journalist asked Surya whether the Pakistani team proved to be more competitive this time? In response, Surya said, “I think now you should stop asking questions about rivalry. Rivalry is called when both the teams play 15-20 matches and one team is ahead by 8-7. Then it is called good cricket or rivalry, but when the results are one-sided then it is called only good cricket, not rivalry.” Surya further added, “3-0, 10-1… I don’t remember the figures exactly, but there is no rivalry anymore.” After this statement of Surya, there is discussion among cricket lovers that the India-Pakistan match has now become more one-sided than the traditional competition.
