Weather Update Today: The real winter of December has started and the weather is changing rapidly all over the country. At some places there is severe cold and cold wave havoc, while at other places heavy rains and storms have increased the problems of the people. Delhi Now I am finding it difficult to get out of the quilt in the morning. Tomorrow i.e. on 5th December, the minimum temperature of Delhi may be around 5 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest temperature of this season so far. The maximum temperature during the day will be around 23 degrees, which means there will be light sunshine during the day, but cold winds will blow which will make you feel chilly. Light fog may also occur in the morning. The sky will be mostly clear, but sometimes light clouds may be seen. The air quality (AQI) will still remain in the poor category, so wear a mask while going out.
Now the real cold of December has started in Uttar Pradesh. Now even the afternoon sun seems lukewarm, the chill is reaching the bones. The nights were already very cold, but now even the day is shivering. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that in the next 24 hours the day temperature (maximum) across Uttar Pradesh will fall further by about 2 degrees Celsius. The night temperature (minimum) will drop further by 2 to 3 degrees. Due to this, cold wave will start in many districts of the state. Not only in the morning and evening, people shiver from the cold even in the afternoon. Today (December 5) and tomorrow the weather will be completely dry in entire UP, there is no chance of rain anywhere. But in the morning there will be light to moderate fog in most of the districts. There will also be dense fog at many places, in which visibility may be only 400 to 500 meters or less, that is, be very careful while driving on the highway, turn on headlights and drive slowly.
Cold wave havoc in Punjab and Haryana
Winter is in full swing in Punjab and Haryana. In almost all the cities like Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Chandigarh, Karnal, Hisar, Narnaul, the night temperature has gone below 5 degrees. At many places the temperature has fallen by 3-4 degrees. People are feeling cold to the bone. There is dense fog in the morning and evening, due to which driving is becoming very difficult. Now the heat of the sun is feeling less even during the day.

Coldest in Rajasthan
Rajasthan has become the coldest state this time. In Fatehpur the minimum temperature fell to 2.2 degrees Celsius, which is the lowest in the entire country. Even in areas like Sikar, Churu, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Nagaur, Alwar, Dausa, the temperature is between 3 to 6 degrees. It seems as if snow is freezing here at night. There is a possibility of further cold increase till next week. Now there is dense fog in the morning and evening and cold wave is blowing.
Snowfall begins in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand
A new Western Disturbance has become active over the mountains. Due to this, there may be light to moderate snowfall and rain in the high altitude areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from December 5-7. There is a good possibility of snowfall in tourist places like Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Pahalgam, Leh, Kargil, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Kedarkantha. This will make the weather there even more beautiful, but the roads may become slippery. There may be light rain in Srinagar and Jammu also.

Rain continues in South India
Heavy rains are still occurring in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala. The cyclonic system named ‘Ditvaha’ is active, due to which strong winds, thunder and lightning are causing heavy rains in the districts like Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Cuddalore etc. There is an alert of heavy rain at many places on 4th, 5th and 6th December. There is also a warning of lightning, so be careful while going out. The good news is that this system will weaken in the next 24-48 hours and the rain will gradually reduce.
