63KM long expressway built in UP, good news for these districts!
Lucknow. A big good news has emerged which will speed up the transportation in Uttar Pradesh. The 62.7 km long Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway to be built between Lucknow and Kanpur is now almost ready. The first phase of the project has been completed and this high-speed route will be opened to the general public within a short time.
The expressway is built in two parts
This expressway, being built at a cost of about Rs 4700 crore, is being prepared in two phases.
First phase (17.5 km): Elevated road from Sainik School to Bani Mor.
Second phase (45.2 km): Greenfield Expressway from Banthra to Azad intersection of Unnao.
The construction of the 45 km long stretch from Unnao to Banthra has already been completed. The 18 km elevated section from Banthra to Shaheed Path in Lucknow is in the final stage.
Drastic reduction in travel time
Till now it used to take 3 to 4 hours to reach Lucknow from Kanpur. But thanks to the new expressway, this distance can be covered in just 35 to 45 minutes. On this route, vehicles will be able to run comfortably at a speed of 100 to 125 km/hour.
Toll Plazas and Entry-Exit Points
A total of five toll plazas are being built on this highway. Lucknow: Miranpur Pinwat, Khandedev, Bani. Unnao: Lalganj (Amarsas village), Azad Square near Shuklaganj bypass. Apart from this, six ramps have also been prepared for entry and exit, which will make connectivity with the surrounding areas easier.
New possibilities for local people
The completion of the expressway will not only speed up travel between the two cities, but will also create new business and employment opportunities in Unnao, Banthara and surrounding areas. Toll plazas, rest areas and service facilities will also provide major benefits to the local economy.
