Aniruddhacharya on Samvidhan: Narrator Aniruddhacharya is in the news because of one of his statements on the Constitution. He has described Geeta as above the Constitution, which created controversy. This is not the first time he is at the center of controversy. He has given such statements on everything from live-in relationships to biscuits, due to which he has been criticized a lot on social media and TV debates.
In a podcast, the anchor asked him to choose between Gita and the Constitution. He immediately replied, ‘Geeta’. He did not stop here. He started listing the shortcomings of the Constitution and criticizing those who believe in it. He said, “We choose Geeta but follow the Constitution; those who choose the Constitution do not follow it.”
The anchor was surprised to hear the answer
A journalist asked Aniruddhacharya, “If we have to choose between the Constitution and the Gita,” he replied, “We will choose the Gita.” The anchor asked, “Will we not choose the Constitution?” His answer surprised even the anchor.

He said what will you do with the Constitution? People don’t believe in it even after being elected. We believe in Geeta. Where do we look at any sister or daughter in a wrong light? Where do we steal from anyone? Where do we commit corruption? And look at the history of those leaders who believe in the Constitution. There is a lot of corruption among them.

The narrator’s arguments surprised
Aniruddhacharya said that the leaders follow the law. Why do they commit corruption? You may know about corruption in government positions, but not all of them. When there is corruption in government offices, do they not know the Constitution? If they know the Constitution then why are they doing corruption?

We do not know the Constitution, we know Geeta, hence we consider dishonesty as a sin. Crores of rupees may be lying there but we will not look at them because Geeta has taught us that dishonesty and looking at someone else’s money is a sin. People who read Geeta also consider killing ants as a sin. Those who believe in the Constitution have even slit people’s throats.
After all, who is Aniruddhacharya?
