Jharkhand Politics: A day before the winter session of Jharkhand Assembly, Speaker Rabindranath Mahato clearly said that various types of discussions and speculations keep going on in politics. But unless they come to fruition, it is useless to talk about them.

The Assembly Speaker told the media in his chamber that discussions go on in politics. Such things are happening since the first day of government formation. I don’t believe in these things. When something is not successful, then it should not be discussed. This statement of the Speaker has come amidst various rumors and speculations going on about the current coalition government.

The Speaker presided over the all-party meeting in the Assembly on Thursday itself. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Congress Legislature Party leader Pradeep Yadav, CPI(ML)’s Arup Chatterjee, AJSU’s Nirmal Mahato, RJD Legislature Party leader Suresh Paswan, LJP’s Janardan Paswan were present in the meeting. In the meeting, complete agreement was reached on the formal program of the winter session.

The speaker said that the session will start from Friday, December 5. Formalities like mourning lighting will be completed on the first day. The actual proceedings will begin from Monday. In this session, the supplementary budget will be presented and the concerned ministers will present their views on private resolutions.

In the all-party meeting, some parties demanded a separate discussion on the law and order situation in the state. The Speaker said that a decision on this will be taken with the permission of the House. At present, these issues can be raised during the discussion with the concerned departments. In response to the questions raised by the members in the Assembly, the Speaker took a strong stand on the slowness of the government departments.

He said that some departments are lazy in this matter. Answers to all questions should come on time. The Speaker said that on Wednesday itself a high-level meeting of officials was held on this issue and strict instructions have been given. The speaker also made it clear that the government’s responses come within the ambit of rules and regulations and not according to anyone’s likes and dislikes.
