New Delhi : Indigo Airlines on Friday canceled more than 400 flights at airports across the country, affecting the travel of thousands of passengers. This incident is the result of ongoing operational disruptions for the last few days. Indigo admitted in its statement that its network was significantly affected in the last two days and also apologized to the passengers.
There will be no delay in flights from December 8
Let us tell you that the airline told DGCA that there will be no delay in flights from December 8 and expressed hope that operations will be completely stable by February 10. The airline also said that the disruption was caused by wrong decisions and shortcomings in planning in implementing the second phase of FDTL (Flight Duty Time Limitations) rules.

Situation at major airports
In fact, on December 5, 53 departure and 51 arrival flights were canceled at Mumbai Airport. In Bengaluru, 50 departure and 52 arrival flights were cancelled, while in Hyderabad, 49 departure and 43 arrival flights were affected. 16 flights each were canceled at Pune airport from 12 midnight to 8 am. Many flights were delayed or canceled in Thiruvananthapuram on 4 and 5 December. Delhi Airport advised passengers to contact the airlines directly to know the flight status.
Reason for cancellation
According to the Director of Pune Airport, many flights were diverted due to crew shortage and FDTL rules. The crowd in the parking bay of the airport increased as planes waited for the availability of crew. Due to this, flights of other airlines were also delayed.
Rahul Gandhi said on cancellation of flights
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi raised questions on the failure of Indigo and said that the general public is having to bear the brunt of it. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi gave a notice in the Rajya Sabha demanding an immediate statement from the Civil Aviation Minister on the matter. He said the disruption has raised serious questions on passenger safety and airport operations.
This major cancellation of IndiGo flights was not only inconvenient for passengers, but also affected airport operations and the punctuality of flights of other airlines. It is clear from the reactions of officials and MPs that regulatory intervention in this matter and strict security and operational measures are necessary to prevent such incidents in future.
