Georgia Wareham’s All-Round Magic Sinks the Sixers in Style
An all-rounder performance from Georgia Wareham has secured a 6-wicket victory for Melbourne Renegades against Sydney Sixers in the WBBL 2025 on December 05 at Junction Oval, Melbourne.
Wareham’s three-wicket haul and unbeaten 49* runs off 29 deliveries have helped Renegades to secure a win in Friday’s clash.
With this win, the Melbourne Renegades secured their fifth win of the tournament and moved into fourth position in the WBBL 2025 points table.
After Melbourne Renegades invited the Sixers to bat first, Ellyse Perry was the only scorer for the side, scoring 65 runs off 47 deliveries.
Apart from Perry, Ash Gardner added 16 runs to the side, while others got dismissed cheaply for single-digit runs.
Georgia Wareham picked the wickets of Alyssa Healy, Mady Villiers and Manix-Greaves for 0,5 and 0 respectively.
By the end of 20 overs, the Sydney Sixers lost 9 wickets to score 130 runs at Melbourne. Wareham picked three wickets while Alice Capsey completed with 2 wickets, and Sophie Molineux, Milly Illingworth and Deandra Dottin completed their respective spell with 1 wicket each.

Chasing the 131-run target, the Melbourne Renegades lost two early wickets of Nicole Faltum and Sophie Molineux for 1 and 2, respectively. Maitlan Brown bagged the wickets of the top-order batters.
Despite Alice Capsey’s dismissal for 10 runs, Davina Perrin gave a decent start, scoring 28 runs off 27 deliveries.
Georgia Wareham and Courtney Webb made a solid partnership, amassing 49* and 33* runs, which helped Melbourne Renegades to secure a win in the 17th over.
Maitlan Brown had two dismissals while Amelia Kerr and Caoimhe Bray bagged 1 wicket each in a losing cause. Georgia Wareham was named the Player of the Match.
Melbourne Renegades have completed their group stage games, and their qualification for the knockout stages heavily depends on the other group’s stage games.
