PM Modi presented the country’s stand on Ukraine crisis, said – ‘India is not neutral, we support peace’
New Delhi, 5 December. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin reached Hyderabad House and began their bilateral talks there. PM Modi addressed the meeting and talked about India-Russia relations. During this, he clearly expressed his stand regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine. PM Modi said that India’s stand is very clear that we are with peace.
PM Modi said, “Since yesterday, the people of the delegation have been busy in many meetings. This summit is moving forward with a lot of results. Mr. President, this visit of yours is very historic. Today it has been 25 years since you took charge in 2001 and visited India for the first time. The foundation of strategic partnership was laid in that first visit itself. For me personally, it is a matter of pleasure that my acquaintance and relationship with you also completes 25 years. I believe that the role you played in 2001 is a great example of how a visionary leader thinks, where he starts and how far he can take the relationship.”
Regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, PM Modi said, “After the Ukraine crisis, we have been discussing continuously. As a true friend, you also informed us about everything from time to time. Trust is a great power. I have discussed this topic with you many times and have also shared my understanding of the world. The welfare of the world lies on the path of peace. We all should together find the path of peace.”
Expressing India’s stand, PM Modi said, “Given the efforts that have been going on for the past few days to find peace, I am confident that the world will once again return in the direction of peace. Whatever leaders of the world community I have spoken to in the past, I have always said that India is not neutral. India’s side is the side of peace. We support every effort for peace and we stand shoulder to shoulder with every effort for peace.”
He said, “The whole world has gone through many crises since Covid. We hope that very soon the world will be free from worries and the world communities will get a new hope on the path of progress in the right direction.” PM Modi said, “I am confident that today we are going to discuss many topics throughout the day. May the economic relations between India and Russia expand further, may we achieve new heights. We will take our meeting forward with such optimistic results.”
