Pramod Kumar’s statement created a stir
When asked by the media why Renuka Chaudhary brought a puppy to Parliament, MLA Pramod Kumar said, “There are many ladies who sleep with dogs for satisfaction. Look on mobile, you will get everything.” A huge protest started against his statement. However, while clarifying his statement, Pramod Kumar said that ‘he did not insult women, but gave an example of how the civilization of western countries is dominating our country.’
RJD-Congress attack on BJP
Opposition parties have termed the MLA’s remarks as indecent and an insult to women. RJD spokesperson Priyanka Bharti made a sharp allegation and said, “Does the Prime Minister get satisfaction when his leaders make such indecent comments against women?” Congress spokesperson Snehashish Vardhan said, “This statement reflects the mentality of BJP and RSS.”
Why did Renuka Chaudhary bring the puppy?
The controversy started on December 1, the first day of the winter session of Parliament, when Congress MP Renuka Chaudhary reached Parliament carrying a small puppy. BJP MPs called it a violation of Parliament rules and raised objection. When asked why she brought the puppy, she said “to save the puppy which was likely to get injured on the way.” He further sarcastically said that “those who bite and those who sting are sitting in Parliament.”
