DDLJ Statue London: Bollywood romantic couple Shahrukh Khan and Kajol presented a special moment for their fans. Bronze statues of their characters Raj and Simran were unveiled in Leicester Square, London. The sculpture is part of Heart of London Business Alliance’s “Scenes in the Square” public art trail to mark the 30th anniversary of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). DDLJ became the first Indian film to be awarded in this project.

It is a great pleasure to unveil the bronze statue of Raj and Simran in Leicester Square, London today, celebrating 30 years of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). It is a great pleasure that DDLJ is the first Indian film to be honored with a statue in the Scenes in the Square trail.

As soon as the statue was unveiled, Shahrukh and Kajol recreated their iconic poses. Kajol embodied Simran in a light blue saree, while Shah Rukh perfectly channeled Raj’s style in a stunning overcoat. Sharing the pictures on social media, Shahrukh wrote, “Bade Bade Deshon Mein, Aisi Chhoti Chhoti Baatein Hoti Rehti Hain, Senorita!” He further said that it is a matter of great pleasure to unveil this statue of Raj and Simran on completion of 30 years of DDLJ. DDLJ is the first Indian film to feature in the Scenes in the Square trail.
