Is there going to be a snow storm in Himachal? Red alert of rain and snowfall in five districts, fog and mercury below zero!
These days the weather patterns are changing rapidly in Himachal Pradesh, and the main reason behind this is western disturbance. On Friday, there is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall along with thunder in the five high hill districts of the state—Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Kullu, Chamba and Kangra. Relief over the weekend and then a new wave of weather
On Saturday (December 6), people will get some relief in the entire state. The sky will be completely clear and the sun will be shining brightly, which will be a relief for the people suffering from cold.
But on Sunday (December 7), this relief will not last long. The period of rain and snowfall may start again, due to which the temperature will fall further. The effect of cold is about to increase!
Yellow Alert: Dense fog near Bhakra
The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of dense fog for Friday and Saturday for the reservoir area of Bhakra Dam and surrounding areas. Visibility can be very low here, so be careful while driving.
Cold wave havoc: mercury dropped below zero
The outbreak of cold wave in Himachal is increasing day by day. From Wednesday night to Thursday morning, minimum temperatures were recorded below 5°C at 16 different places in the state. The condition is so bad that at four places the mercury went into minus, while at one place exactly zero degree Celsius was recorded. Warm clothes are necessary to avoid cold!
Temperature expected to improve in next 24 hours
According to Meteorological Center Shimla, in the next 24 hours the minimum temperature may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature may also increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. This will provide some relief to people.
Detailed weather forecast (8-18 December)
After Sunday’s rain and snowfall from Monday to Wednesday (8-10 December), the weather is expected to remain clear and dry throughout Himachal. No problem!
According to the extended forecast (12-18 December), rainfall will be below normal in most parts of the state throughout this week. From December 12 to 18, the weather will remain dry in the lower hills, plains and central hill areas.
This change in weather is a gift of snowy scenes for the tourists, but the local people should make adequate arrangements to avoid the cold.
