In front of Putin, PM Modi gave ‘Pahalgam message’ to Pakistan in one line against terrorism
New Delhi, 5 December. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave an early message to Pakistan in a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday and said that India and Russia have stood shoulder to shoulder against terrorism for a long time. In fact, in the joint press conference after the 23rd India-Russia annual summit at Hyderabad House, PM Modi mentioned the Pahalgam attack, in which more than two dozen people lost their lives.
Terrorism is a direct attack on the values of humanity
PM Modi said that India and Russia have stood shoulder to shoulder against terrorism for a long time. He mentioned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and the cowardly attack on Crocus City Hall. PM Modi said that the root of all these incidents is the same. He said, ‘India has an unwavering belief that terrorism is a direct attack on the values of humanity and global solidarity against it is our greatest strength. India and Russia cooperate closely at the UN, G20, BRICS, SCO and other international forums. India will continue dialogue and cooperation with Russia on all these forums.
2030 Agreement on economic cooperation program up to
PM Modi also announced that India and Russia have agreed on a 2030 economic cooperation program to diversify bilateral trade and investment. This announcement was made by PM Modi after his conversation with President Vladimir Putin. He said, ‘Increasing economic cooperation between India and Russia is our priority, and for this we have agreed on an economic cooperation program till 2030.’
Moving forward on free trade agreement
Prime Minister Modi said that energy security has been a strong and important foundation of the relationship between the two countries. Decades of cooperation in the field of civil nuclear energy has played an important role in advancing the clean energy priorities of both countries, and this ‘win-win’ partnership will continue. He described deep collaboration in shipbuilding as an empowering element of Make in India, which is an excellent example of enhancing employment, skills and regional connectivity.
PM Modi said that both the leaders will participate in the India-Russia Business Forum and this forum will give a new direction to business relations, as well as expand opportunities for co-production and co-innovation. Both countries are also taking new steps to realize a free trade agreement (FTA) with the Eurasian Economic Union.
