Ranchi: Hemant Soren has to appear in the MP-MLA court of Ranchi on Saturday in the case of disregard of ED summons. The High Court has directed him to appear on December 6 at 2 pm. In this case, he has been given exemption to appear personally on later dates. The High Court has said that if the court so desires on any special occasion, they will be bound to appear physically or through video conferencing. Hemant Soren had filed a petition in the High Court to appear personally in the ED summons case. While executing this petition, the High Court has given this order.

ED had filed a complaint in the court against Hemant Soren for not complying with the summons. In this regard, case number 2/2024 is registered in MP/MLA court and the hearing is going on.

In the complaint filed by the ED, it has been said that 10 summons were sent to Hemant Soren in the land scam case, out of which he appeared before the ED only on two summons. Hemant had appeared before the ED on the 8th summons issued on January 20 and the 10th summons issued on January 31. ED says this falls in the category of disobeying summons
