PM Modi’s special gift to Russia – Russian citizens will get free e-tourist visa of India for 30 days

New Delhi, 5 December. In the presence of President Vladimir Putin, who is on a two-day official visit to India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday stressed the importance of cultural ties between India and Russia, saying people-to-people ties have always held a special place in bilateral relations and New Delhi will soon launch a 30-day free e-tourist visa and 30-day group tourist visa for Russian citizens.

PM Modi said, ‘Our cultural cooperation and people-to-people ties have been of special importance in India-Russia relations. For decades, the people of both the countries have had a feeling of affection, respect and intimacy towards each other. We have taken many new steps to further strengthen these relations.

India recently opened two new consulates in Russia

He said that recently two new Indian Consulates have been opened in Russia. This will further facilitate contact between the citizens of the two countries and increase mutual closeness. In October this year, lakhs of devotees received the blessings of the holy relics of Lord Buddha at the International Buddhist Forum in Kalmykia.

30 days group tourist visa will also be started

PM Modi said, ‘I am happy that soon we are going to launch free 30 days e-tourist visa and 30 days group tourist visa for Russian citizens. Manpower mobility will connect our people as well as provide new strength and new opportunities for both countries. I am happy that two agreements have been signed today to promote this. We will also work together on vocational education, skill development and training. We will also increase the exchange of students, scholars and sportspersons of both the countries.

He said, ‘I am confident that in the times to come, our friendship will give us the strength to face global challenges and this confidence will further enrich our shared future. I once again thank you and your entire delegation very much for your visit to India.
