Mumbai/Swapnil Shinde: The 50 films we are honoring also stand out for their social content, artistic quality and experimentation. 14 crore 62 lakh rupees are being distributed to you for 50 Marathi films. This is not only financial aid but the government has always been encouraging Marathi films that use innovative techniques with social content and contribute to the awareness of the audience. Ashish Shelar, Minister of Cultural Affairs and Information Technology, spoke in the program at Rabindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi, Maharashtra Kala Academy, the check distribution ceremony of the financial support scheme for quality films organized by the Maharashtra Film, Theater and Cultural Development Corporation of the Department of Cultural Affairs, the Ganeshotsav Reels Competition prize distribution ceremony and the poster unveiling of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj. The final plan of Film City has been approved. He also said that we are going to set up an updated audio visual gaming center in Maharashtra on the lines of Film City in Mumbai.
He further said, ‘Today’s 50 films include – 4 National Award winners, 3 State Award winners, 10 ‘A’ grade films, 23 ‘B’ grade films and 10 ‘C’ grade films. Today we are disbursing a total of about 14 crore 62 lakh rupees to all these films. I am also very thankful to the examining committee for transparently conducting the evaluation process for this scheme.’ WAVES 2025, the World Audio-Visual Summit, has expressed Maharashtra’s determination to become a “Creative Economy Hub”.

On this occasion, Shelar said that Maharashtra has got a rich heritage of saints, revolutionaries, social reformers, intellectuals, artists and athletes.
