Putin India Visit: President Vladimir Putin is on a 2-day visit to India. He was given a warm welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan today on Friday. He was also given a guard of honour. After the end of the official talks between PM Narendra Modi and Russian President Putin at Hyderabad House, both the leaders exchanged several agreements signed between India and Russia in a joint press conference. These agreements are considered an important step towards further strengthening the mutual cooperation between the two countries. In the meeting between PM Modi and President Putin, agreement was reached on defense as well as sports and trade. Along with this, MoU has been signed on health, education, food security, shipping, transport, fertilizer, custom matters and postal service.

Addressing a joint press conference with Putin, who is on a two-day official visit, Prime Minister Modi said, “I believe that in the future our friendship will enable us to face global challenges.” Prime Minister Modi said, President Putin’s leadership took India-Russia relations to new heights. India and Russia planned to develop cooperation in strategic sectors of their economies. Our relations are crossing historic milestones – 25 years ago, President Putin laid the foundation of our strategic partnership.
Both the countries have prepared a master plan of economic cooperation till 2030, which will bring major changes in energy, critical minerals, high-tech manufacturing and shipbuilding.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘India and Russia have stood shoulder to shoulder against terrorism for a long time. Be it the terrorist attack in Pahalgam or the cowardly attack on Crocus City Hall – the root of all these incidents is the same. India has an unwavering belief that terrorism is a direct attack on the values of humanity and global solidarity against it is our greatest strength. India and Russia have close cooperation at the United Nations, G20, BRICS, SCO and other forums. We will continue the dialogue and cooperation on all these platforms.
