CM Dhami’s big statement: ‘This is not a government job, this is God’s work’, gave special advice to young officers
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met probationary PCS officers at the Chief Minister’s residence today. On this special occasion, CM Dhami warmly welcomed the young officers and extended best wishes for their administrative journey. Dhami clearly said that administrative service is not just a job, but it is a ‘divine work’ related to public service.
Administrative service is not just a job, it is a big responsibility
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the young officers coming into administrative services are the backbone of the state. He said in clear words that the real objective of government service is to bring positive change in the lives of the people. Motivating the officers, Dhami said that they should not just see this job as a profession, but consider it as a dedicated service to the people of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. He said that when officers will consider service as a divine work, only then their decisions will be transparent, sensitive and effective.
Public has high expectations from young officers
The Chief Minister said that today’s young generation is full of technology, modern thinking and new ideas. That is why the expectations of the general public from the young officers are also double. He stressed that with the changing times it is necessary for the administration to adopt innovation. Be it the use of technology, simplifying government processes or better ways to interact with the public — innovation is needed everywhere. CM said that along with old methods, smart solutions are also necessary to solve the problems, so that people can get faster and better services.
Sensitivity is the real foundation of public service
CM Dhami laid special emphasis on sensitive administration. He said that the public expects respect, justice and hearing from the administration. He told the trainee officers to look at every problem from a human perspective and treat every citizen with respect. Dhami said that listening, understanding the problems of the people and trying to find solutions immediately – this is the identity of a true administrator.
Officials should understand the challenges of the hill state
The Chief Minister said that the geographical situation of Uttarakhand is very challenging. It is not easy to provide basic facilities in hilly areas, difficult roads and remote villages. He explained to the officers that administrative responsibility in a hilly state is not just technical, but it requires human sensitivity and a lot of hard work. Dhami said that if the officers work with positive thinking and hard work, then a big change can be brought in the lives of the people of the state.
The benefits of every scheme should reach the last person.
CM Dhami gave clear instructions to the trainee officers that every scheme and facility of the government should reach the last person of the society – this should be the mission of every officer. He said that the government aims to reach out to the deprived, remote and needy sections, and this will happen only if the officials work continuously in this direction with honesty and dedication.
Justice, honesty and humility – the hallmarks of a good officer
The Chief Minister said that the public wants justice, transparency and fairness from the administration. Therefore, officers should always be polite, honest and fair. He said that good behaviour, connection with the public and ability to take right decisions – these are the biggest assets of an officer.
