The company is facing a lot of difficulty in implementing the new Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) rules for pilots. Meanwhile, more than 1000 flights of IndiGo were canceled on Friday, on which the first statement of the company’s CEO Peter Albers has come out.

Peter Albers said in a video message released on Friday that the airline has been facing problems in its functioning for the last few days. The company’s operations were most affected on December 5 (Friday) and more than 1000 flights were canceled throughout the day.

He said, ‘I want to share with you that for the last few days we have been facing serious operational problems. Because of this this crisis is deepening further. Friday, December 5, has been the most affected day so far. On Friday we have canceled more than 1000 flights. That means this is more than half of our total daily flights.

Passengers requested to keep an eye on latest updates of flights

He said that please do not come to the airport for the flights which have been cancelled. Most of the flights have been canceled on Friday as the entire system of IndiGo is being rebooted. Complete normalcy in IndiGo operations will be restored between December 10 and 15. Sorry for your inconvenience. Passengers are requested to keep an eye on the latest updates on their flights.

Apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers

The CEO stressed that IndiGo has faced serious operational challenges in the last few days, but the company is taking all possible steps to restore normalcy. Apologizing for the inconvenience caused to the passengers, he said, ‘On behalf of all the colleagues of IndiGo, I sincerely apologize to all the passengers who have suffered a lot due to delay or cancellation of flights.’
