Supplementary budget will be discussed on the last day of 18th Bihar Legislature session
Patna. Today is the last day of the first session of the 18th Bihar Legislative Assembly. Chief Minister Nitish has reached Bihar Assembly for the last day of proceedings. Voting and disposal of the related Appropriation Bill will be done after discussion on the second supplementary expenditure statement in the House on Friday.
Before the conclusion of the session, important points related to the expenditure of the state government are likely to be discussed. On Thursday, Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar held a high-level review meeting with officials of the Building Construction Department in his office room. In this meeting, the interference in the mic and sound system during the recent Governor’s address was specifically discussed.
During the session, oath was administered to the newly elected MLAs. Most of the MLAs took the oath of allegiance to the Constitution, but the famous names Anant Singh and Amarendra Narayan had to be deprived of the oath, Anant Singh is currently in jail while Amarendra could not attend due to family reasons. On the other hand, the coronation of those who took over the leadership of the House was also done with full pomp and show. Prem Kumar was unanimously elected Speaker and Narendra Narayan Yadav as Deputy Speaker, which was a reflection of the strategic strength of the ruling party.
It is noteworthy that the session of Bihar Legislature may have been short, but its political heat was no less than that of a full session. On the fifth and final day, members have started arriving in the House continuously, the political atmosphere is heated and the ruling and opposition parties will use each other’s absence and presence as weapons to target them.
