Strengthening India Russia Partnership: Russian President Vladimir Putin was on a two-day visit to India, where he participated in the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit. The main objective of the visit was to further deepen the special and privileged strategic partnership between the two countries. He was formally and warmly welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu hosted a grand dinner in his honour, symbolizing the strong friendship between the two countries.
Grand welcome for Putin at Rashtrapati Bhavan, emphasis on strategic partnership
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin visited Delhi on a state visit for the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit on 4-5 December at the invitation of Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. He was given a grand ceremonial welcome on his arrival at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, reflecting the deep ties between the two nations. The visit comes at a time when India and Russia are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the declaration of their strategic partnership, the foundation of which was laid in October 2000.
Dinner in honor of President Murmu
President Draupadi Murmu hosted a special dinner in the honor of Russian President Vladimir Putin at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Many prominent Indian leaders including Vice President CP Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were present on this solemn occasion. This dinner was not just a formal meeting, but exemplified a long-term relationship based on mutual trust and respect for each other’s national interests. The leaders emphasized that this important relationship remains a strong foundation for global peace and stability.
Bilateral cooperation got a new dimension
During the summit, the leaders of both countries made a positive assessment of India-Russia relations. The leaders acknowledged that India-Russia relations remain strong even against the backdrop of a complex and challenging geopolitical situation. Both sides expressed satisfaction at strengthening cooperation in traditional areas as well as actively exploring new avenues of cooperation.
Resolve to take the partnership to its full potential
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to building a contemporary, balanced, mutually beneficial, sustainable and long-term partnership. They agreed to make all efforts to realize the full potential of the strategic partnership. In this direction, he welcomed the inauguration of two new Consulates General of India in Yekaterinburg and Kazan, Russia.
