Mitchell Starc Becomes 2nd Australian Cricketer After Pat Cummins: A five-match Ashes series is being played between Australia and England. He has become the second Australian player to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets in the World Test Championship.

Till tea time, this left-handed batsman is playing after scoring 46 runs in 95 balls. Starc also completed 1000 runs in the World Test Championship. Starc needed 43 runs in this match to complete 1000 runs in the World Test Championship (WTC) and he achieved this target in the 98th over of Australia’s innings.

Starc is the ninth Australian player to score 1000 runs in the WTC and also becomes the second Australian player after Pat Cummins to complete 1000 runs and 100 wickets in the WTC. Before this, only Pat Cummins could achieve this feat. Now Mitchell Starc’s name has also been included in this list.

Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who announced his retirement from international cricket on December 18, 2024, holds a unique record in the history of the World Test Championship (WTC). Ashwin became the first cricketer to take 1000 runs and 100 wickets in the WTC. He played a total of 41 WTC matches for India, in which he scored 1142 runs and took 195 wickets.
