India’s art of serving partnership, not just food, on the menu of the state dinner; Friendship of the coming decade kept on a plate
New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin’s two-day visit to India concluded on Friday. During this, President Putin was formally welcomed at Rashtrapati Bhavan and he was given a guard of honour. 19 important agreements were signed between India and Russia, the purpose of which is to further strengthen trade and economic relations between the two countries.
On the last day of the tour, President Putin was also given a state dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Putin sat next to each other at the state dinner. State dinner always remains in discussion due to its grand event and dishes prepared as per the choice of foreign guests. This time too many special and traditional dishes were presented to the guests.
Special dishes served at state dinner
The state dinner included many distinctive and aromatic dishes along with the traditional thali.
Soup: Lightly spicy broth of drumstick leaves and moong dal, garnished with puffed millet.
sauce: Kashmiri style walnut chutney along with refreshing mint chutney was also served.
Kebabs and Bread: Pan-Grilled Black Gram Kebabs with Sheermaal Bread.
Zafrani Paneer Roll: Paneer and dry fruit rolls in saffron-scented sauce.
Spinach Methi Matar Ka Saag: A blend of spinach, fenugreek and fresh peas, with a tadka of wild mustard.
Tandoori Stuffed Potatoes: Potatoes marinated in curd and spices roasted on charcoal.
Pickled Brinjal: Small pickled eggplants in sweet and spicy sauce.
Yellow Dal Tadka: Boiled yellow lentils with tomatoes and onions, seasoned with cumin seeds and asafoetida.
Kremlin Menu: Dry Fruits and Kesar Pulao, Lachha Parantha, Magaaz Naan, Satnaj Roti, Missi Roti and Biscotti Roti.
In sweet: Almond pudding, saffron-pistachio kulfi, fresh fruits and juice.
21 gun salute and Rajghat tribute
Russian President Putin was welcomed with a 21-gun salute on Friday morning. President Putin went to Rajghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Apart from this, several MoUs were also signed between India and Russia, the objective of which is to promote trade and cooperation between the two countries.
Putin left for Moscow on Friday evening, during this visit many important steps were taken to further strengthen the strategic, economic and cultural relations between India and Russia.
