President Murmu, Modi and Birla paid tribute to Ambedkar on Mahaparinirvan Day, Rahul-Kharge also remembered

New Delhi, 6 December. President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday paid tribute to Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his 70th Mahaparinirvan Diwas by paying floral tributes at his statue installed at Prerna Sthal in the Parliament House complex.

Birla said in his message, “An emotional tribute to the architect of the great Constitution of India, guardian of social justice, Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar ji on his Mahaparinirvan Divas.” He said that his vision of a society based on equality, justice, education and inclusive development still remains a guide for the development of the country. Baba Saheb also included these basic elements in the Indian Constitution. With the concept of welfare state, he paved the way for justice, equality, freedom and rights for crores of countrymen.

Birla said that Ambedkar ji, who played an important role in nation building and constitution making, also made great efforts towards the empowerment of Indian society. The messages he gave to the exploited, workers, women and youth are essential documents for building a progressive nation. Even today, Baba Saheb’s writings and speeches are the philosophies of revolutionary ideology and morality.

He said that wherever in the world there exists inequitable discrimination or untouchability, Ambedkar ji’s vision and life-struggle paves a bright path to free the entire society from oppression, exploitation and injustice. The Lok Sabha Speaker said that Babasaheb Ambedkar believed that education is the most important weapon to raise the standard of living of the people. His slogan was also – ‘Be educated, stay organized, struggle’. He not only created theories in the field of education but also implemented those theories on a practical level in his educational institutions.

He said that he had started working in the field of education since the formation of Bahishkrit Hitkarini Sabha in the beginning of the year 1924. The Sabha made education a priority and opened colleges, hostels, libraries, social centers and study centers to spread higher education and culture, especially among the backward classes. Under the direction and guidance of the Sabha, on the initiative of the students, publication of a monthly magazine named ‘Saraswati Vilas’ was started.

It opened hostels in Solapur and Belagavi in ​​1925 and free study centres, hockey clubs and hostels in Bombay. PM Modi said in a post on social media

Emphasizing Ambedkar’s lasting contribution to India’s development, the Prime Minister said, “Dr Ambekar inspired generations to uphold human dignity and strengthen democratic values. May his ideals continue to illuminate our path as we work towards building a developed India.”

Birla said that Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar formed the ‘Depressed Class Educational Society’ in the year 1928. Later, in 1945, he established ‘Lok Shiksha Samaj’ to spread higher education among the backward sections of the society. Many colleges and schools were opened by this institution. He said, “Dr. Ambedkar ji’s legacy is an integral part of India’s national identity and his ideas will continue to inspire future generations.

In the light of Babasaheb’s great intelligence, we can move our life, society, nation and the world forward on the path of progress. Dr. Ambedkar’s dream society based on equality, fraternity and justice can be achieved only by accepting the concept of “Ek Bharat – Shrestha Bharat”. Making the countrymen aware of the importance of our nation’s independence, he had said that we must resolve to protect our independence till the last drop of our blood.

Kharge and Rahul also paid tribute to Ambedkar

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and former President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday paid tribute to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar on the occasion of his Mahaparinirvan Diwas and said that the Constitution of India is the greatest gift given by him. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi also offered flowers at the statue of Ambedkar in the Parliament complex.
