Quinton de Kock’s century, South Africa gave India a target of 271 runs

The third and last ODI of the ODI series is being played between India and South Africa at the ACA-VDCA Stadium. Batting first, South Africa scored 270 runs losing all wickets in 47.5 overs thanks to Quinton de Kock’s 23rd ODI century.

Indian captain KL Rahul won the toss and decided to bowl first. Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickleton opened the innings for South Africa. Ryan Rickleton was caught by Rahul off the ball of Arshdeep Singh without opening the account. There was a partnership of 113 runs between captain Temba Bavuma and De Kock for the second wicket. Bavuma was out after scoring 48 runs on 67 balls. After this South Africa lost wickets at regular intervals. Aiden Markram, who scored a century as an opener in the last match, was sent at number four, he was out after scoring just 1 run.

Amidst the continuous falling of wickets, Quinton de Kock scored the 23rd century of his ODI career. De Kock played an innings of 106 runs in 89 balls with the help of 6 sixes and 8 fours. Matthew Bretzke scored 24 and Dewald Brewis scored 29 runs. South Africa was reduced to 270 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav was the most successful bowler from India. Kuldeep took 4 wickets for 41 runs in 10 overs. Prasidh Krishna also took 4 wickets for 66 runs in 9.5 overs. Arshdeep Singh and Ravindra Jadeja got 1 wicket each. This series of 3 matches is tied at 1-1. India won the Ranchi ODI by 17 runs, while South Africa won by 4 wickets in the second ODI played in Raipur.
