Indigo announces full waiver of fees for cancellation and rescheduling, says ‘sorry for the difficulties’

New Delhi : The country’s largest private airline IndiGo faced operational problems for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday, due to which flights had to be canceled at many major airports in the country. The airline suffered its biggest blow on Friday, when more than 1,000 flights were canceled in a single day. Even on Thursday, cancellation of more than 550 flights created immense inconvenience and chaos among the passengers.

Due to these continuous cancellations, thousands of passengers across the country were affected and their journeys were disrupted. However, IndiGo said in its statement that customers do not need to take any additional steps to get the refund.

The flight was canceled due to technical reasons
Let us tell you that Indigo had recently canceled some flights due to operational pressure and technical reasons, but due to this situation continuing for four consecutive days, the resentment among the passengers increased. On social media, passengers shared their experiences of inconvenience with the airline as well as at the airports. Complaints from passengers mainly related to changes in flight schedules, long waits and waiting at airports.

Operations are slowly returning to normal
Delhi Airport informed on Saturday morning that IndiGo operations are now gradually moving towards normalcy, although complete stability has not yet returned. Airlines have tried to ease the pressure by rescheduling many flights, but are still having to cancel flights in some key sectors. Airline officials say that the instability in operations has affected passengers, but the situation will be completely under control in the coming days.

Situation serious at other airports also
The impact of the operational crisis was clearly seen in other states also. Three domestic arrival and three departure flights were canceled at Thiruvananthapuram airport in Kerala, forcing local passengers to look for alternative flights. Similarly, the situation in Ahmedabad was also not normal. Officials said that from midnight to 6 am on 6 December, seven arrival and twelve departure flights had to be cancelled. Due to this, many morning flights were affected and passengers had to wait for a long time at the airports.

These could be the main reasons for this problem
IndiGo management has not yet shared the detailed reason for the continued disruption in operations. Experts believe that technical reasons, challenges in aircraft maintenance and flight scheduling could be the main reasons for this problem. Passengers are being advised to confirm the status of their flights through the airline’s official website or mobile app.

Passengers worried, hope for improvement soon
Although the airline says that operations will be back on track soon, this four-day instability remains a matter of concern for passengers. Many people have been disrupted in their work, business and personal travels. Experts believe that IndiGo will have to ensure operational stability in the coming weeks by rescheduling its flights and strengthening technical resources. This situation has also exposed the weaknesses of the country’s air travel system and increased the pressure on airline management to meet the expectations of passengers.
