Garlic is not beneficial for everyone – it can become dangerous for these people

Garlic is considered a superfood. It is very beneficial in increasing immunity, improving heart health, reducing cholesterol and protecting from infections. But did you know that garlic is not safe for everyone? In some health conditions, consumption of garlic can cause serious harm rather than benefit.

If you are struggling with the problems mentioned below, then it is better to stay away from garlic.

  1. People with acidity and gas problems

Garlic has a hot nature and can increase acid in the stomach.

Acidity
gas
Abdominal distension
Burning

Garlic may further aggravate the symptoms in such people.

  1. Patients with ulcer or stomach injury

Raw garlic can irritate the inner lining of the stomach (mucosa).
Reasons for this:

Ulcers may grow
increased risk of bleeding
There may be severe stomach pain

  1. those who have very low blood pressure

Garlic naturally reduces blood pressure.
If your problem is low BP, then garlic can bring down the BP further, which can lead to dizziness, weakness or even fainting.

  1. People taking blood thinners

If you are taking medications such as Warfarin, Aspirin or Clopidogrel, garlic may further thin the blood.
This may increase:

risk of bleeding
prolonged bleeding from injury
bleeding nose

  1. patients undergoing surgery

It is advisable to reduce or stop garlic consumption 7–10 days before surgery.
Because:

it thins the blood
May cause risk of excessive bleeding during operation

  1. People with allergies or skin reactions

Some people may have skin allergies or rashes due to garlic.
symptoms:

Itching
Red Rashes
Swelling
Burning

In case of allergy, consumption of garlic should be stopped immediately.

  1. excessive amounts of garlic during pregnancy

A small amount is safe, but eating too much garlic can:

heartburn
Nausea
gas
poor digestion

Such problems may increase.

Even though garlic is a food with powerful medicinal properties, it is not right for everyone.
If you have acidity, ulcer, low BP, blood-thinner medicines, skin allergy or have to undergo any surgery, then be careful with garlic.
