Delhi: The third and decisive match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa is being played today at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. In the match, India won the toss and invited the guests to bat. South African team scored 270 runs with the help of Quinton de Kock’s historic century.
South Africa’s weak batting
South Africa’s batting looked completely weak in this match. For the first time in the series, they got a chance to bat first, but the entire team was out in less than 50 overs. Ryan Rickleton returned to the pavilion in the very first over, but Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma withstood the initial pressure and created a good platform for the middle order by adding more than 100 runs for the second wicket.
De Kock played brilliantly even after Bavuma’s dismissal and completed his seventh ODI century against India. This is a wonderful personal achievement for him. But, after this the course of the match completely changed. Prasidh Krishna, who got 27 runs in the first two overs, bowled brilliantly in the next five overs and took the important wickets of Bretzke, Markram and de Kock.
After this Kuldeep Yadav showed wonders. He completely trapped South Africa’s lower middle order and showed his impressive bowling by taking four wickets. South Africa was all out for 270 runs, which seems a bit low for this wicket. One positive thing is that the dew is not feeling as heavy as before, due to which South Africa is hopeful of staying in the match.
