As soon as the month of December arrives, the weather of the country has completely changed. Snow is falling on the mountains, due to which the chill has increased in the plains, while there is a possibility of rain in some states of South India. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for different parts of the country.
Cold wave alert in central India
If you live in Central India, you will have to be prepared for severe cold. According to the Meteorological Department:
- Eastern Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh There is a possibility of cold wave on 7th and 8th December.
- Western Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha The outbreak of cold wave may be seen in the areas on 10th and 11th December.
- Jharkhand Cold wave is also going on in many parts of Uttar Pradesh, where the mercury dropped to 3 degrees Celsius in Gumla. ‘Yellow alert’ has been issued in 11 districts of the state.
- Rajasthan Many areas of Uttar Pradesh, especially the Shekhawati region, are in the grip of cold wave and it is extremely cold here.
Snowfall on mountains, cold increases in North India
Snowfall continues in the hilly areas, the direct impact of which is visible on the plain states like Delhi, Punjab and Haryana.
- Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand There may be light to moderate rain or snowfall on December 7 and 8.
- Himachal Pradesh There is a possibility of snowfall on December 7 also.
- kashmir The night temperature has dropped several degrees below zero, causing severe cold there.
Chance of rain in the south
While North and Central India is shivering with cold, the weather is different in some states of the South.
- Tamil Nadu There may be light to moderate rain with thunderstorms on December 7.
- Andaman and Nicobar Islands There is a possibility of rain at many places on 7th and 8th December.
How will the weather be in Bengal and Northeast?
- west bengal The minimum temperature in many districts including the capital Kolkata has reached the lowest level of this season.
- North Eastern states There is a possibility of dense fog in the morning.
The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to be careful according to the weather of their area and protect themselves from the cold.
