Shatrughan Sinha accuses BJP of using religion

New Delhi. Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Shatrughan Sinha has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of inciting voters by taking the help of religion. He also expressed words of praise for the leadership and popularity of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The statement came after the BJP accused Chief Minister Banerjee of allowing suspended TMC MLA Humayun Kabir to polarize Muslims. Humayun laid the foundation for the construction of Babri Masjid in Murshidabad. Responding to this, Sinha said, ‘I believe in equality of all religions. Asansol is a city of brotherhood, where people from every state live together.

Shatrughan’s emphasis on Mamata Banerjee’s popularity

Shatrughan Sinha further said, ‘BJP has beneficial issues which they can raise in the name of religion to instigate people. Mamata Banerjee is a very popular and influential leader. BJP has to work hard to defeat Mamata Banerjee. TMC MLA from North 24 Parganas Nirmal Ghosh also said in the same discussion that the Chief Minister has an equal approach for all communities and has loyalty towards every religion of Bangla land. He said, ‘People are with Mamata Banerjee, you will see it in 2026.’

Inauguration of foundation for construction of Babri Masjid

Suspended TMC MLA Humayun Kabir laid the foundation for the construction of Babri Masjid in Murshidabad. He told the gathering that he was following his constitutional rights and was not doing anything illegal. Kabir clarified on this issue, ‘Just as someone can build a temple or a church, I can also build a mosque. It is being said that we cannot build Babri Masjid; But this is not written anywhere. Kabir also said that the Supreme Court decision was taken keeping in mind the sentiments of Hindus, and the Constitution allows building mosques.
